Apparently since the last time I wrote in this, certain subjects have become taboo. Talking about boys is frowned upon, talking about girls is the same. Speculating on couples and their futures is out too, but that's for good reason. Things are either not to be talked about, too boring to talk about (ie, schoolwork and the like), or have been talked about already and therefore are pointless to discuss (ie Quidditch, but, having said that, GO RAVENCLAW).

So essentially, there isn't much for me to write about, which is disappointing for me. And for you too, because you have to read through all this. Well, you don't have to read it, but you might have. I apologise for the rambling, I'm just filling up time to avoid homework, honestly.

To make up for that, here is a question. What are you doing for winter holidays? I'm considering going home, but I'm not really sure I want to just yet. My mother is making all kinds of subtle allusions to the fact that she thinks my father wants to see me for Christmas, which is not an idea that I love, honestly.

Be a rebel! Talk about the taboo!

Thank you for not writing about something we've all read a million and one times already.

I'm going home for the break. I always do.

You're welcome. I do my best to please the people.

Do you do much, at home, or just relax mostly?

There is a lot of bouncing from place to place, relatives and such, but nothing much other than that.

That's alright then. Normally I do things with my brother, but he's overseas at the moment, so that's not in the cards.

Who said we're not allowed to talk about Quidditch? Does that mean I have to write about rice pudding again? I never write about girls. Maybe I should.

Want me to tag along? I'll actually have to go to my dad's at some point. The baby is almost here, well, January.

No one said, I've just noticed a lot of people commenting on the amount of posts about the same thing and Quidditch is one of those topics. And as for writing about girls, did you see, I was rebellious and wrote about boys and girls. So maybe you should write about girls too. Be rebellious against yourself, I guess.

I would love you forever and carry you around when you're old and can't walk any more if you would. It won't be fun, it'll be me, ignoring dad Diane and the demon spawn, you know, the usual. But with you there it won't be so bad.

Let's hope for a boy this time eh? Last thing you need is another sister.

Funny that, considering none of them appeared to have an issue with going on and on and on AND ON about the ball previously, but somehow Quidditch is taboo. Right. As for girls, I don't even know what I'd say.

Ok, lets do it then. Lets get your mum off your back and pay your dad a visit. You'll have to return the favour, of course. I don't fancy seeing mine much either. All they do is talk about that baby. And it's not even here yet.

Yeah. Whatever, I'm not really fussed.

Well, you could write, 'Girls are stupid.' That's a common theme. Or you could go for a variation and discuss your own prowess with the ladies. Or maybe just go with the rice pudding thing again.

You are fantastic. And of course I'll tag along. If you're going to put up with me being moody for a few days, I can at least do the same.

Well, if it's any consolation, I know what you're going through? I don't know if that helps but it feels like the right thing to say.

It is? Who's actually writing that? I think I'll just avoid all gender related accusations. Safer that way.

It does help. At least it stops me from feeling like a complete prat. According to Rita I should just accept it all and move on and not mope, thereby ruining everyone else's happiness. Perhaps she has a point, but I don't see why I should have to pretend to like the situation.

Probably a good idea.

And, you know I love your sister, but psh to her advice. I've been moping since I was ten years old, and it makes me feel better. Why should I be the one to compromise? I'm not the one who walked out, so therefore I don't owe anyone anything.

...wow, I went off on a tangent there. But yeah, I guess that kind of applies to you too. If acting how we do makes it easier to deal with, then who's to tell us otherwise. It's not like there's a better option.

It's ok. That's exactly how I feel about the whole situation. Something else that irritates me is, the fact that my dad's always busy, we always have to meet up on his terms. I suppose he has to show us off to his new in-laws at Christmas.

Oh joy. I really, really wish that Tristan wasn't going away, then there'd be an option besides family. Well, the family that we don't like anyway.

Because he and Polly are going to Switzerland for Christmas, and mum is letting him because 'he's an adult'. Lucky bastard.

That is extremely unfair. Rita always has a similar excuse. I can't wait till I turn 18 and become an "adult" (my mum still refuses to recognise the fact that it's 17 for us).

A few more years. Just think. Freedom. Although, I don't know if I'd go to Switzerland. Morocco perhaps or somewhere a bit more exotic and less freezing.

I'd love to go to Kenya. Or somewhere in Africa where there's lots of animals. I've always wanted to see hippos in an zoofree environment.

A safari trip would be brilliant. I'll never forget that one time we went to London Zoo, and the way that huge gorilla was glaring at us from behind his glass enclosure. He looked utterly bored and...depressed.

Oh, don't remind me about the sad gorillas. It depresses me. And I'm already in a fragile state, what with the lack of sugar and the having-to-visit-my-father thing.

We should free that gorilla, when we're of age. Transporting a gorilla to Kenya with magic can't be that hard.

Sorry, Mandy.

That'd be great and I think it could be possible even though the Ministry might have some sort of a law against stuff like that. If we're freeing that gorilla I hope he's still alive then we have to free that family of Orangutans as well. That baby was so cute

We have to! And the hippo. And the giraffes!

Look. Obviously, we just have to orchestrate a zoo-wide jail break. That's the easiest solution.

I think I've found my life's cause.

Well, at least, if anyone asks where I see myself in ten years, I can say 'breaking into zoos and freeing kangaroos with Terry', so that's a plus.

I always wanted to do something to "help" the world and something that involved travelling. So this is perfect. And we'd be a great partnership, apart from the fact that you support Puddlemere, but I'll let that slide.

I'm a taboo virgin. I have no idea what you can and can't talk about, so I think I'll end up mentioning something about a quaffle or a hug I saw in the hallways, and that'll be the end of me.
